The Loknātha Yoga Tradition is a natural and safe method to heal the body, calm the mind, and enhance overall well-being. It offers a path to experience the divine presence within all living beings through personal knowledge and ascetic practice.
Loknātha Yoga integrates the five main paths of Yoga: Haṭha, Karma, Bhakti, Jñāna, and Rāja Yoga. This traditional yogic system was developed by Yogiraj Tonmoy Shome at the International Loknath Yoga School in India, under the spiritual guidance of Guruji Shri Thakur Janakinatha Brahmacari, following the teachings of the great Yogi Shri Baba Loknath Brahmacari. Since 2009, Yogiraj Tonmoy has shared Loknātha Yoga across Chile and South America.
Rooted in the classical eightfold path of Aṣṭāṅga Yoga, Loknātha Yoga emphasizes proper yogic breathing (Prāṇāyāma), gentle postures (Āsana), Mudrās, Bandhas (locks), Kriyās (Ṣaṭ Karma), concentration techniques, and a yogic diet. Its practices help individuals understand the mind-body constitution and maintain the balance and purification of the five elements that form the human body and mind.
Postures, holds, and rest periods serve as therapeutic tools to train the body and mind, ultimately leading to a state of surrender to God through meditation. As the great Ṛṣi Patañjali said:
“Yogaś-citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ” – Yoga is the process of gaining control over the mind.
